The Alliance for Healthy Aging, in partnership with Newcastle University Institute for Ageing, is holding a symposium titled "Intervention from Mice to Humans" which will be held October 24-26, 2019 at Slaley Hall Hotel near Newcastle upon Tyne, UK.

Travel awards are available for outstanding abstracts and will cover travel and accommodation costs for the conference. The top abstract for each topic listed below will be selected for an oral presentation. Please include the Program Topic your abstract should be considered for when submitting. Please mark your abstract as “poster only” if you DO NOT wish to be considered for such a slot.

Presenters will be required to register for the conference at https://forms.ncl.ac.uk/view.php?id=4350959.  There is no registration fee, and accommodation and full board will be provided throughout the conference.

Program Topics are:

  • Biological Ageing and Frailty
  • Reversing Premature Ageing
  • Brain Ageing/Dementia
  • Vascular and Metabolic Ageing
  • Muscular Ageing and Sarcopenia
  • Extending Healthspan

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Abstracts must be categorized into one of the program topics listed.  Abstracts should be title case, saved in Microsoft Word, limited to one page, and must be sent as an attachment within an e-mail to Joao Passos: Passos.Joao@mayo.edu and the Kogod Center on Aging KOGODAGINGCENTER@mayo.edu no later than August 16, 2019.

We encourage you to submit early to ensure prompt confirmation and processing. After a scientific review, award recipients will be notified.

Abstracts should contain the following content sections:

  • Background                                                                 • Results and Conclusions
  • Objectives                                                                    • Support (if applicable)
  • Methods (including type of data collected)

Please underline name of presenting author, list co-authors and collaborators, your department, institution, city, country, and postal code.

You will receive an e-mail acknowledgment of each abstract submission.  If you do not receive an e-mail acknowledging submission, contact Joao Passos at Passos.Joao@mayo.edu. Detailed instructions regarding poster format and size will be provided within the abstract acceptance notice.
